16 Lessons I’m Taking With Me From My 21st Year Of Life.

1. You can’t control the thoughts and actions of others.

2. Not everyone is meant for everyone… and that’s okay.

3. Oftentimes people’s judgements are more a reflection of them rather than you.

4. You are the only one in control of your happiness.

5. People come and go out of life pretty frequently, so take each moment for what it is and just enjoy it.

6. When your heart races a little faster, or butterflies fill your stomach, lean into them because that probably means something pretty incredible is about to happen.

7. A moment is what you make of it- if you choose to live everyday focused on the bad, you will surely find bad. But if you find the little cracks of light in everyday, the sun always seems to shine a little brighter.

8. Everything we want in life we aren’t meant to have- rejection is redirection onto something better. So feel what you need, but then pick yourself up and move on.

9. Embracing authenticity and your differences is the most magical thing you can do for yourself. Find who you are, be that person, and stop apologizing to people about it.

10. Lead everyday with courage and confidence, and know that not everyone is going to receive it well all the time… so in those moments, go back and read lesson #3.

11. Only give your time to people and things that create or add value to your life.

12. When life gets lonely, remember you’re not actually alone. There is a world of millions of people. If the people in your life aren’t supporting or feeding your purpose, go find people who will, because surely, they are out there.

13. Lead with kindness always. And accept it from others as well.

14. Smile at strangers and make conversation.

15. If it’s not going to matter in 5 years, stop worrying about it.

16. Dance, sing, or do whatever you feel like and stop caring so much what the world around you is going to think about it.
