I think it’s so interesting- how a camera doesn’t have the capability of capturing the night sky. Yes, there are fancy expensive cameras that have the ability to capture galaxies, but I’m talking your plain old regular iPhone. It does its best and has come a long way, but tonight as I sit outside awaiting the start of the meteor shower, I’ve attempted several times to capture the beauty above me and not a single picture can do it justice…
Although a simple and obvious observation, I find it meant to be really- that our eyes are the best capturers of the night sky’s beauty. That truly our eyes are the best capturer of any beauty. A picture can only do so much- and don’t get me wrong, sometimes it truly does incredible things. I still look back at my pictures from when I lived abroad and marvel over the images that lay in my camera role. But even still, they don’t do those moments justice. As beautiful as they may be, my eyes and my mind remember so much more.
I think that’s purposeful. That even with the furthering of technology our eyes are by far still the best capturer. It’s a sign to get out and experience. To see everything you possibly can with your eyes rather than just through a lens. Because truly, there is no greater beauty than the way you see the world… literally.
